My Life In Ruins – May 8, 2009

My Life In Ruins, selected for the closing film at the Tribeca Film Festival, is in my opinion a remake of Under The Tuscan Son Greek style. The story is about a woman (Mia Vardalos, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) who goes to Greece in an effort to find herself but ends up finding love instead. I suppose in film self discovery always leads to true love. Nevertheless, the movie has been done a dozen times before so I guess one more won’t hurt. It is a funny and entertaining movie and will probably be on DVD before we know it. However, it is also a wonderful marketing tool for Greece’s Travel and Tourism Board.
