Here is an interesting foreign film from Belgium, which unfortunately will not be shown in the U.S. as a result of no distribution interest. The movie is along the same line as Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons with a more solid and interesting twist.
The story is about a man named Nemo Nobody, who leads an ordinary existence with his wife Elise and their 3 children, until one day when he wakes up as an old man in the year 2092. At 120, Mr. Nobody is not only the oldest man in the world but also the last mortal of a new mankind where nobody dies anymore on the planet.
But that doesn’t seem to phase him one bit, what does however, is the question, whether he lived the right life for himself, loved the woman whom he was supposed to love, and had the children whom he was meant to have… as a result he sets out to find the right answer.”
The movie will be released on October 9, 2009 in Belgium, but no US release for lack of distributor. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that they can find a US distributor as this movie in my opinion is worth seeing.
Cast:
– Jared Leto plays Nemo Nobody, a 120-year-old mortal.
– Sarah Polley plays Elise.
– Diane Kruger, and Linh Dan Pham play Nemo’s wife in different alternative lives.
– Rhys Ifans and Natasha Little play Nemo’s parents.
