Explain something to me please about Academy’s decision to double the number of nominees for its top prize this year. With all due respect, I think just in the last decade alone we seem to have had trouble listing 5 best movies of the year every single year, and based on what I have seen so far and what is on the agenda for the rest of the year, I am not sure how they will compile their list of 10 best movies for 2009?
Can someone please shed some light on my ignorance.
