Me and Orsen Welles – 11/27/09

Well, impressive I might say for Zac Efron. This movie is the story of a young student learning theatre, among other things in New York city. He, by luck, gets a small part in the 1937 play Julias Caesar, directed by then the 22 year old Orson Welles.

From the trailer the movie seems interesting and creative, but what is the most interesting about the film is that Orson Welles’ part is played by a newcomer named Christian McKay. Imagine landing the role of an iconic legend. What a challenge for the young newcomer and a great way to make it or break it in the business depending on the critics review. The only positive is that, if he is able to fill Welles shoes, he may be nominated for an Oscar.

Anyway, put the movie on your checklist of things to do this holiday season. Orson Welles fans are welcome of course.
