Although I have seen the movie Beyond Borders (2003) twice before, I decided to rent it the other night and see it. It’s funny the movie is really a good movie and probably the best acting Angelina Jolie has ever done, in my opinion. As for Clive Owen, it is one of his best from all the best he has done.
The story, although a love story, is really about rescue efforts and volunteer work for third world countries. It sheds plenty of light on the lack of financial means, the ever increasing work that has to be done and the drive to reach everyone and anyone in need of help.
I watched the movie during this holiday season so that I could focus on the more important things in life. It is a touching and inspirational story, a sad story and one that should stay in the back of your mind for sure, every time you feel you need to complain about what material things you lack in life.
So take a moment from you busy shopping days and holiday feast planning and party agendas and rent Beyond Borders from Netflix just to get a better perspective on life and be thankful for what you have.
