The Girl On The Train – Foreign Film


A bit of foreign film news for all International film fans.

From director Andre Techine is the film The Girl On The Train, about a young girl named Jeanne (Emilie Dequenne) who lives in the suburbs with her mother Louise (Catherine Deneuve). Since Jeanne has no plans in life and somewhat lives day to day just rollerblading and soul searching, her mother suggests that she work for a lawyer, Samuel Bleistein (Michel Blanc), whom she knew from her childhood.

Jeanne obliges and so the story unfolds as she decides to conjure up a lie involving the lawyer and as a result of her story, the situation grows into an uncontrollable tabloid and political news causing all sorts of havoc for everyone concerned.

The film opens in New York on January 22, 2010 and Los Angeles on February 19, 2010. Once more San Francisco may be missed on a great film.
