I just can’t resist no matter how hard I try. Gerard Butler is currently filming scenes in Serbia for a film adaptation of Coriolanus, which is based on one of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy plays. Glad to note, after a few roles in comedy, Butler has returned to what he does best, tough guy bearing weapons and scruffy beard.
Apparently the film, which is set in modern times, is a long time dream for Ralph Fiennes to put together. He will direct and star in the title role of the Roman general who leads a rebellion against a Roman empire. Butler has taken on the part of his rival Tullus Aufidius.
Vanessa Redgrave will play the role of Coriolanus’ mother Volumnia. The film is scheduled to wrap in a two month window and is slotted for release in 2011. Stay tuned.
