Black Swan, a psychological thriller from Darren Aronofsky (The Wrester) is set to be the opening film for the 67th Venice Film Festival which runs from Sept 1-11th.
The film, which has a star-studded cast that includes Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey, and Winona Ryder, is a story set in the New York ballet community. It is the story of a dancer named Nina, ( Portman), who is locked in a web of intrigue and curiosity with a rival dancer.
I am hopeful the film will get good reviews since this will be Aronofsky’s third consecutive feature to premiere in Venice. The previous films are The Wrester and The Fountain.
