Most children were told the story of Red Riding Hood while growing up and I know for myself, the story left a lasting impression well into my adulthood. I actually decided that if I were to have children, I wouldn’t share this particular one with them.
Fast forward to end of 2010 and I find that there is a film called Red Riding Hood scheduled for release March 2011. This version is geared more towards a mature audience and is full of suspense and mystery with a touch of sexual content.
The synopsis is based around a medieval town haunted by a werewolf, where a young girl (Amanda Seyfield) falls for a woodcutter (Lukas Haas) much to her family’s disapproval. Now, since the film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twighlight (2008), we can almost envision where the story goes and how the plot unfolds.
I am somewhat intrigued by the trailer and the buzz and will certainly make it a point to see it. I have included the trailer below, please let me know what you think?
