I am always looking for an extra ordinary film to see and once in a while find one staring at me from a list of films opening on a weekly basis. Footprints is that movie for April 15th opening week.
The story comes to us from director Steven Peros, about a young girl names Sybil Temtchine (Ten Benny) who wakes up on the footprints and handprints of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre one morning, unaware of how she got there. While she searches for answers, she stumbles upon various washed up actors as well as a couple of tour guides and a Scientology auditor, who try every strange way possible to help her remember how she got there. Meanwhile she is followed by a stranger , who may only be a figment of her imagination.
I know the film sounds a bit boring, but what interests me the most about it, is the fact the film chronicles Sybil’s journey from sunrise to sunset of a single day and all the events detailed through the film are either real or just simply part of her imagination, which is something the audience will need to figure out while they watch the film.
