After promoting The Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny Depp will head to London to begin filming his 8th picture with Tim Burton, Dark Shadows.
I actually am looking forward to this film because it is based on a television series. The story is based on a the Collins family who migrates to America from Liverpool to start a new life. Two decades later, their son (Johnny Depp) is an arrogant playboy who gets tangled up with a woman and ends up breaking her heart. Her revenge comes with a hefty price tag as she is a true witch, who turns him into a vampire and buries him alive.
Two centuries later, the vampire is freed from his tomb and returns to a very changed world, more precisely 1972. While he walks about his mansion, he discovers his descendants who live there haven’t taken care of the place. In addition he discovers they too have secrets of their own.
Burton’s films can be either a hit or a miss, it seems. I know Alice In Wonderland did not get good reviews but I liked it, so not really sure how this will turn out. I do understand that Bruno Delbonnel (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) will have a hand in the project, so at least visually it will be worth a gander.
In addition, Burton’s cast include Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Evan Green, Johnny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz, Earle Haley.
