Director Randall Miller has stumbled upon a gold mine with this one. The movie is the story of the early days of California’s Napa wine making and the rise and recognition of Chateau Montelena after becoming the winner of First place in the blind Paris wine tasting of 1976. It’s a wonderful movie, perhaps not given enough credit at the box office. A heartwarming story of family, friends and a vision of one man to make it all happen. Bill Pullman, Alan Rickman, Dennis Farrina are among the actors. The movie is a must for all Californians and wine connoisseurs around the US. Make sure you pick up a bottle of Chardonnay from Chateau Montelena to complete your movie experience.
