Some Good Old Fashion Clooney News

George Clooney is set to star in a Focus Features film called “A Very Private Gentleman”, from the novel by Martin Booth. Clooney will play an assassin, who is known as Farfalla (a butterfly painter) to the small town he hides out in Southern Italy.

As he decides to carry out one final assignment before retiring, his life suddenly becomes complicated by a love interest and by someone destined to “take him out” (Sounds a bit like the move In Bruges). But nonetheless the movie will begin filming in Italy (of course) in the fall. Rowan Joffe is scripting the picture and Anton Corbijn is scheduled to direct the film.

This is actually a perfect role for Clooney, in my opinion he does better in non-political movies. What I am hoping for is that he would pick up the phone and call me to recommend I play his love interest in the movie, tucked away somewhere in an Italian village. Not so much because of who he is but rather I think I can do a great job of complicating his life as he sets out to do one final hit. One can only hope.

Anyway, stay tuned for more details to come, as I think this project is going to be a fun one to follow.

  1. Focus Features have been behind some great movies recently including last years fantastic ‘Milk’ – wonder if they are hiring?!
