The Last Airbender apparently cost Paramount about $150Million to make and $130Million to market and based on the opening night, it may only make about $50Million overall and of course with those figure we can all do the math. This is not good news for M. Night Shyamalan and Paramount Pictures.
The problem with these type of movies in my opinion is that they all sound and seem the same. After a while today’s audience are tired of the same old thing. Writers, directors and studios need to focus more on making creative movies rather than improving the old or banking on similar topics. 2010 so far has been the worst in film making history and until everyone in the business stops thinking about blockbusters and starts focusing on quality films, the industry will continue to take bigger hits with bad movies.
