Sometimes being part of a trilogy or a role which has spanned over a ten year period can be damaging to an actor’s career. We have seen it happen to sitcom actors as well as several child actors. I suppose it is important to take that into consideration when taking on roles.
I was concerned with the main actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rubert Grind career past Harry Potter and was wondering what now?. Sure, Daniel Radcliffe dabbled here and there in theatre and just recently got a role in a film. While Emma Watson enrolled in college, and Rubert Grind seemed to be disappearing into the horizon.
So it is nice to discover that Emma Watson has taken on a very small part in an indie film titled My Week With Marilyn – the story of Colin Clark, who worked as Laurence Oliver’s assistant on the movie The Prince And The Showgirl, co-starring Marilyn Monroe.
The positive side of the role is that she will star with the likes of Michelle Williams, Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper and Judi Dench and hopefully this will be her break into true film-making as well as adult roles. Best wishes to you Emma.
