Gnomeo and Juliet – Movie Trailer

I just couldn’t help myself in including news about a an animated film (possibly a 3-D) based around Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

This version is based on garden gnomes who come to life, while the homeowners are away in order to deal with blue and red family differences across the fence as they struggle to be together.

If you ask me, the plot is creative and cute, I don’t care if it smells like Toy Story. I am also pleased with the cast Emily Blunt, James McAvoy, Jason Statham, Michael Cane, Maggie Smith, Patrick Stewart and more – who were gracious enough to lend their voices and add a touch of their personalities in order to make the film happen.
So for all those interested, the film opens February 2011 and yes it is on my list of movies to see next year. Until then, get a glimpse of the trailer below and let me know what you think?

  1. Garden Gnomes that come to life would be much better suited to a horror movie or suicidal drama show. At least it is good for the children also. At the young age they know about the Romeo and Juliet story.
