Steven Spielberg in 2011

I know Spielberg has been pretty busy working on the first installment of TINTIN , which I cannot wait for anymore. The film is slotted for release  December 2011 and in my opinion just too far away.  Now we discover that his film  War Horse, originally scheduled for release in Aug 2011, is also slotted for release around the film TINTIN in December 2011.

I am not sure what the concern is, as reported across many entertainment industry news sites, about conflict and competition when both films are based on totally different genres and stories. The only reason the film TINTIN might not get the recognition it deserves in the U.S. is because the character hasn’t really been introduced to the children here. However, the story will surely be popular abroad.

As for the film War Horse, it is a story based on an award winning Broadway play at The New London Theatre, about the bond between a first world war soldier and his horse.  With this film, I do see an Oscar buzz for sure and surely not a competition for TINTIN.

Stay tuned…
