Certified Copy – Foreign Film – A Must See

The film Certified Copy, although made in 2010 and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival the same year, has finally made it’s way to the US. Sadly to a limited distribution and I am sure for a limited time. Before I go any further I have to say this film might be the next The King’s Speech if it is distributed on a much wider spectrum in the US.

From Moviefone.com the synopsis is as follows:

Academy Award-winner Juliette Binoche gives one of the finest performances of her career (for which she won the best actress award at Cannes) in ‘Certified Copy,’ the first European film from Abbas Kiarostami (‘Taste of Cherry’). The film is a playful and provocative romance set against the lush, golden landscapes of Tuscany, a captivating story of a couple’s apparent chance meeting and a masterful game of hide and seek exploring the nature of love, marriage and art.

**See the trailer below and judge for yourself.  Also, if you have had the chance to see the film, let me know what you think about it. This is one film I am hoping will make it to my town.
