Don’t Look Back – Foreign Film with Monica Bellucci

I love foreign films, for their unique and direct approach to film making. It is truly an amazing experience to watch one and if you haven’t done so, I highly recommend it.

With that said, I decided to rent a French/Italian and English thriller film titled Don’t Look Back (this is the title for the U.S. release of the film) with Monica Bellucci and Sophie Marceau. The story is about a women, who, experiences a tragic car accident, where she loses her entire family. She develops amnesia from the incident and it’s not until her adult life, when she begins to remember bits and pieces of her childhood, making it very difficult for her to cope with her current life. While searching for answers, she discovers she was never the person she currently was…

Interesting concept, very create script, but the only trouble was watching the first 30minutes, as director Marina De Van tries to show her audience how Jeanne discovers she isn’t who she really is. My only advise is if you could get past the first part, the rest of the “foreign” film (I say this with love) falls into place slowly, mostly very dramatically but eventually.

I do recommend the film, but be patient with the language transition. However, if you love movies as much as I do, you will have no trouble watching this one.
