The Debt – Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington

This creative film is a two part espionage thriller detailing events which took place in 1966, involving three secret agents who were to track down Nazi war criminal Vogel in East Berlin and get rid of him. Years later the trio receive news, the very man they thought they killed, may very well be alive.

I say creative because in part 1, the three young secret agents portrayed by Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain and Marton Csocas do everything in their power to train for and hunt down Vogel. Years later, and the second part of the film, the same secret agents, but much older, portrayed by Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson and Ciaran Hinds are once again faced with the notion they may have to finish what they started 30 years earlier.

The best part of this film is how director John Madden captured and intertwined the two stories, between all the characters over a 30 year span. I can’t wait to see this one. The film opens 31Aug2011, until then, check out the teaser trailer below:
