A couple of years back, Clive Owens made a film, The Boys Are Back, about a widow doing everything in his power to be a good father to his sons. Although I felt the film was Owen’s best, it didn’t do so well at the box office. Perhaps because we appreciate him in bad guy/good guy roles.
Anyway, fast forward to 2011 and now, the other handsome Hollywood star, George Clooney, has made a film, very much similar to Owen’s The Boys Are Back, except he is dealing with two daughters while coping with their mother’s illness. But this time, although like the last time, the buzz about the film is pretty promising and to date, it is one of Clooney’s best performances according to the Telluride Film Festival held over the Labor Day Weekend.
