Madeleine Stowe wrote and now will direct the movie Unbound Captives as it has been announced. This will be Stowe’s first directorial debut and apparently she was offered a good sum of money to sell her script to Fox, but she declined the multiple offers because she wanted full control of the project from start to finish and I guess she got what she wanted. She was able to land the likes of Rachel Weisz, Robert Pattinson and Hugh Jackman for her first project, which will begin filming soon.
Just so we are all clear, the story is about a woman (Weisz) whose husband is killed and her two children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She is then rescued by a frontiersman, to be played by Jackman and somewhere in there will be Pattinson who will play the son.
Well then when all else fails, direct. Anyway best wishes to Stowe on her first directorial job and hopefully the outcome will be alot more interesting than the actual storyline.
