I tried, really tried to wait until at least September to talk about this amazing tale, but I couldn’t so here it goes. This amazing tale called THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS is the story of a present day travelling show where members of the audience can choose and experience the difference between light and joy, darkness and gloom by a gifted Doctor named Parnassus. The only problem is that the doctor himself, when he was a gambler thousands of years ago, made a bet with the devil over immortality and he won. Centuries later, after meeting his true love, Dr. Parnassus decides to bargain his winning immortality in exchange for youth but the only catch this time is that he would give up his daughter to the devil on her 16th birthday.
The amazing part of this film, besides the wonderful special effects, the colorful and creative filming techniques, Heath Ledger was scheduled to play the younger version of Dr. Parnassus but due to his untimely death, his role was altered to include parts played by Johnny Depp, Collin Farrrel, and Jude Law. Dr. Parnassus’s role is played by my all time favorite Christopher Plumber (a.k.a Captain Von Trapp)
Anyway, check out this exclusive trailer I found online, this trailer has not yet been released to Youtube or other movie trailer sites. I can’t wait for this film and I am certain it will be an amazing one to experience.
