David Cronenberg is scheduled to direct The Talking Cure, a film adaptation of the Christopher Hampton play about Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung and their unusual relationship with a patient named Sabina Spielrein.
For the film, the original cast included Christoph Waltz as Freud, Michael Fassbender as Jung, and Keira Knightley as Sabina Spielrein. However, post Oscar, the buzz is that Waltz has dropped out of the film due to conflicting schedule, he is slotted to be in the film Water For Elephants. Viggo Mortensen has signed on to replace him as Freud in The Talking Cure.
What do you think of Mortensen as Freud? I prefer Waltz in the role but I am also confident Mortensen will do well. Stay Tuned.
